My wife discovered this hilarious series on YouTube that I think a lot of you loyal readers of this blog will appreciate. It’s an irreverent way of teaching Photoshop. It’s a great use of comedy combined with practical instruction to make an otherwise boring topic interesting. Heck, even if you don’t use Photoshop I bet you’ll enjoy this video. And if you do use Photoshop, unless you’re a whiz, I’m sure you’ll learn a thing or two. As Donny (the instructor) says in this lesson, “you’ve only been using about $75 worth of Photoshop, and this is going to open you up to about $250 worth.”
The underlying context to this video is that Donny is apparently separated from his wife. So, in it he makes references to why they’re separated. In fact, this lesson is centered on his wedding ring which he is reluctantly going to put up on eBay (thus the impetus for this lesson–he’s making the image to use on eBay).
If you’ve followed our blog for a while, you know that we are big fans of comedy as a way to market and spread awareness. I applaud Donny for his creative and storytelling approach to Photoshop instruction. He’s given me some great ideas of projects I’d like to do.
