What's Your Perspective? Failure—Part 2

In continuing my theme this week on failure, I want to ask, how many times do you sit in your bed at night, sulking over how crappy life is? Do you ever hear yourself saying things like:

  • The economy sucks!
  • My photos suck!
  • My videos suck!
  • I’m not as good as “so-and-so.”
  • I’ve never won an award.
  • I’ve been going at this business for umpteen years now and it just doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
  • My girlfriend left me.
  • My boyfriend left me.
  • My husband.
  • My wife.

There can be any number of set backs we face in life that make us just want to throw in the towel. Say “screw it!” It’s not worth it. C’mon. I’ll admit it. I feel like that sometimes. But, then I watch a  video like this and it makes me wonder why I’d ever complain….about anything. And I feel shame for ever, ever, wanting to quit.

  1. Yeah- I need a knock in the head sometimes. I’ve seen this guy before. Amazing. Such an incredible testimony of God’s grace at work.

  2. “I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot . . . and missed. And I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why . . . I succeed.”
