Remembering My Mom – A Year Later

Today marks the one year anniversary of my mom’s passing. This is an excerpt from the memorial service held June 3, 2008. It’s my daughter singing “Fragile Heart” by Yolanda Adams. Took me a year to watch it.

It was 18 months between the time I saw my mom last and when she died. As I wrote in my original tribute post last year, take time out for those you love. Don’t let too much time go by without saying how you feel about them. And above all esle, keep everything in life in it’s proper perspective.

I miss you mom.

  1. That’s very moving, Ron – we wish you and your family all the best. Your daughter has a beautiful voice.

  2. You know I never thought about that song in the context of losing someone that you love. But it perfectly says so much about the grief of losing and missing someone that you love. I want to say that you’ll be ok but there’s never a good time to lose a parent, spouse or child. Beautiful tribute, by a beautiful child with a beautiful voice. God Bless. Now your challenge is to build on your mother’s legacy with your own children.

  3. Ronnie,
This is so beautiful. I’m really moved by this tribute. When I e-mailed you, I did not realize that it was the exact date, but close. God Bless you and your family…MO
