I have been incredibly honored to be friends with Skip Cohen. I first hooked up with him two years ago when we made a recap video for WPPI. At the time he was President of RangeFinder Publishing/WPPI. Now, after seven years at the helm there, he’s joined the ranks of those self-starters and entrepreneurs that make this country great.
BACK TO SCHOOL
Due to his stint at RangeFinder/WPPI, and a previous 12 years as CEO of Hassleblad USA, Skip has become a giant in the world of pro photography (of course, he would never refer to himself like that. The hyperbole is all mine. šĀ So it was no surprise that when he decided to put together a last minute convention (sort of like a mini-WPPI), he was able to get some of the biggest names in the biz to help out.
This summer, from August 16-19, he’s hosting “Skip’s Summer School” and if you’re a pro photog of any level, you won’t want to miss it. For only $279 you get instruction from a top notch “faculty,” including Skip himself (but don’t call him “the principal.”) š Registration also includes one registration for WPPI 2010. You get two conventions for the price of one. It will be held at the MGM Grand, and he’s secured a special rate of just $69/night. (That’s cheaper than a Motel 6!) You can get all the details on his new site, Marketing Essentials International.
Here is the first in a short series of videos we produced for Skip. In this, he shares with us his feelings about going out on his own. Spread the love. Skip is putting a lot into this and we’re hoping to sell out the few spaces.
