Inspiration thru Collaboration: Dancing

Yesterday I posted a video by Playing for Change, where the filmmakers collaborated with musicians all around the world to each sing the same song, the mix it together in post to create a terrific and inspiring video. Today we have a video with dancing. Matt Harding spent 14 months circumventing the world and dancing with people from a multitude of cultures. There’s just something about seeing him in so many locations, with so many different people, all expressing joy. There is no specific cause. But in watching it you do want to get up and dance.

This is a project that took 14 months to complete. Yesterday’s video was part of a film that took four years to bring to fruition. So the question I have for you is are you willing to stay the course to bring your vision to life, even it it’ll take years. I’m not talking about your career overall, but a single, creative vision. Do you have such a vision, and if so, what will you do to make it a reality?

Lastly, I noticed is that Matt Harding (the “star” if you will) is most of the time dancing behind those who join him. In fact, in many of the scenes, he’s completely buried behind a wall of people. In other words, he as no desire to be out in front all the time. Even though he’s clearly the “leader.” Are you willing, in the creation and execution of your creativity, willing to let those around you shine, even to the extent where you won’t be seen at all?
