Zach Lipovsky, Finalist from “On the Lot” (X180-075)

A few years ago there was a reality TV contest on the air called “On the Lot.” It was essentially “American Idol” for filmmakers. Executive Produced by Steven Spielber with weekly judge appearances by Gary Marshall, Carrie Fisher and some weekly rotating guest (e.g. Michael Bay). Today on our show we have one of the five last finalists on the show: Zach Lipovsky. If you watched the show you’ll recall he was the one who had all the shorts with the amazing special effects. Well, Zach is back. But this time in addition to making films, he’s making iPhone and iPad Apps for filmmakers. His Shotlister app is exactly what it sounds like: an app for listing and tracking your shot list while on set. This thing goes way beyond a spreadsheet print out. Tune in and learn about Zach’s experience “On the Lot,” the genesis for Shotlister, and great insight into the business of commercial directing.
