New Look

For only the third time in the 7 or so years I’ve published this blog, I have changed the look. The old look and layout served me well for the past three years.

The old site.
The old site.

As I become more deliberate in the kind of posts I write, I wanted a design and layout that was more personal, more visually appealing, and better suited for the number and kind of posts I’m making.  I feel this new look is less “daily newspaper” and more coffee table magazine.

Some of the aspects I really like:

  • Large header images per post.
  • Wider video players. My last design only supported 588 pixels wide. This new design supports up to 1,000 pixels for both photos and video.
  • Less clutter.
  • More focus on the content and education.

Use the button in the upper right-hand corner to access the menu. I made the blog categories more prominent and I minimized the info about me. This blog is primarily for you the readers, after all. It’s not meant to promote me. (Well, not as a focus or primary mission anyway).

What to Expect

I will continue to provide inspirational and education posts geared to help you improve your craft and better your business. Be on the look out for the #9CamJam blog post series, as well as more posts about the making of the various film series I’m producing.  As usual, you can stay updated on all DDMag activities by signing up for our email list.

I’m sure I’ll need to tweak things here and there over the next few weeks. In the meantime, I’d love to know what you think of the new look.

Oh yeah…for you U.S. readers, HAPPY THANKSGIVING.
