Names mean things. Your name can give insight into gender, race, socio-economic status, or whether your parents were permanently high in the 60s (or have a terrible sense of humor).
Equally, if not more important, is what we call ourselves with respect to our profession. And nowhere is that as hotly debated or discussed as in the film industry.
Today I want to share the second preview from my new podcast, “Radio Film School.” This episode is a funny yet poignant look at what we filmmakers do (or do not) call ourselves. Enjoy!

Love this Ron! I can’t wait for more! I had a good laugh… At weddings I often give up and just say, “I’m the video girl!” Ha ha!
I used to HATE being called “the video guy.” I joked about it in the episode, but I really think I like it now. 🙂
Awesome. I could easily see this expanded into a full-length episode, though. Didn’t you have a discussion about this topic on an episode of FilmFellas?
No doubt Martin. You could probably do a mini-series on the topic. I’m sure aspects of it may rear its head again. And yes, I do recall having this be one of the opening discussions on my cast of FilmFellas. Good memory.
